This is mine and my families faaavourite chocolate cake. It is so easy to put together as all ingredients go in the bowl all together, using only one bowl , little utensils and makes a huge cake!
To change things up dont be afraid to throw in some orange zest or Frangelico.. extra yummo
185g butter -soft room temp
2 tsp vanilla essence
1 3/4 cups castor sugar
3 eggs
2 cups self raising flour
2/3 cup cocoa
1 cup of water
Grease a deep 23cm round cake tin and line with paper, grease paper. Combine soft butter, essence, sugar, eggs, sifted flour, sifted cocoa and water in a large bowl. Beat on low speed with a electric mixer until ingredients are combined. Increase speed to medium and beat for around 3 mins or until mixture is smooth and changed in colour. Bake in moderate oven for about 1 1/2 hours and let stand for 5 mins before turning onto a cooling rack...Ice when cold then watch it disappear!
Now the brood has seen me with the family cookbook they think i am making them cake.. bwwwhahahahahahahahahaa suckers :P
The only time i sweep the room is with a glance Darling.. I would MUCH rather be creating than cleaning, so if you want me you'll find me in the sewing room creating Vintage inspired items for modern day living...
